The Public Law, Economics, and Policy Institute is a three-day educational program that helps state Solicitors General improve their understanding of the basic economic principles often found at the heart of legal and public policy disputes.

Through interactive, classroom-style lectures, Institute participants will receive a solid grounding in economic concepts and methods and learn how these tools can be applied in the analysis of public law and public policy issues. Topics to be covered throughout the weekend will include big tech antitrust and competition, market imperfections, banking and consumer finance, environmental economics, preemption, federalism, the Dormant Commerce Clause, and other critical areas of concern to your state. The course format includes a mixture of lectures and analyses of related cases. Ample time will be set aside for participants to interact with and learn from instructors and their fellow participants outside the classroom.
