Program Description: As the first meeting of the LEC Privacy Fellows, this workshop focused on the topics of the legal framework surrounding the Federal Trade Commission’s consumer protection authority over advertising, privacy, and data security standards; the economics of information and advertising; the economics of privacy; and emerging legal and regulatory issues worthy of economic analysis. Workshop faculty included: J. Howard Beales III, The George Washington University School of Business; James C. Cooper, George Mason University School of Law; and Paul H. Rubin, Emory University.
