Situated in the heart of Washington, D.C.’s regulatory ecosystem, the Program on Financial Markets at Scalia Law serves as a hub for academic inquiry, policy dialogue, and education at the intersection of law, economics, and finance. Rooted in George Mason’s tradition of economic analysis of law, the Program fosters a rigorous understanding of how legal institutions evolve, interact, and influence the structure and operation of the financial system.

Through a dynamic curriculum, faculty-led research, and strategic engagement with policymakers and industry leaders, the Program enriches student learning and preparation for practice while advancing cutting-edge scholarship and fostering dialogue with policymakers in business law and financial regulation. It brings together diverse perspectives from academia, Wall Street, Main Street, Capitol Hill, State legislatures, and regulatory bodies—connecting theory to practice to address pressing issues facing the economy and financial markets. The Program contributes to real-world policymaking through impactful and policy-relevant research and programming.
