The second annual DC Law and Economics Workshop will be held at the George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. The workshop is designed to provide a forum for law and economics scholars in the Washington, D.C. area to present and discuss ongoing research in the field. This event continues an annual tradition launched last year, when Georgetown University hosted the inaugural workshop. George Washington University has committed to hosting the third workshop in 2027.
The workshop will take place from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm and will feature four working paper presentations, each followed by discussion with the audience. Lunch will follow the workshop, generously sponsored by the Law & Economics Center (LEC) at George Mason’s Scalia Law School.
Submission Details
If you have a working paper that you would like to present at the workshop, please send a PDF file of the paper no later than Friday, March 27, 2026 by email to the workshop organizers, Nuno Garoupa ([email protected]), Josh Teitelbaum ([email protected]), and Caroline Cecot ([email protected]). Please include “DC Law and Economics Workshop” in the subject line. The selection of papers to be presented at the workshop will be made by the workshop organizers, with priority given to pre-tenure faculty. The planned notification date is Monday, April 6, 2026.
