Program Description: The goal of the Workshop for Law Professors on Risk, Injury, Liability, and Insurance is to introduce law professors to these four concepts, provide clarity on how they are interrelated, and give guidance on how to use these concepts in their research and teaching.  The topics covered by this workshop include Risk and Risk Aversion; Mechanisms for Dealing with Risk; Compensating Wage Differentials; The Economics of Accidents; The Economics of Insurance; Tort Law and Incentives; Risk, Insurance and Tort Law; The Economics of Tort Damages; Loss Spreading, Shifting, and the Economic Consequences of Twentieth Century Doctrinal Expansion; Risk Regulation; The Economics of Tort Litigation; and Tort versus Contract. Enrollment is limited to 24 professors.
