George Mason Law Review’s 28th Annual Antitrust Symposium

The George Mason Law Review 28th Annual Antitrust Symposium will take place on Friday, February 21, 2025 at the Fairmont Washington, DC Georgetown.

The Symposium, titled Antitrust Cornucopia: AI, Ad Tech, Content Moderation, & What’s Next?, will explore critical issues at the intersection of antitrust, technology, and law. Topics will address the fallout from the Justice Department’s Ad Tech antitrust case against Google, and its implications for the ad tech ecosystem and competition; the ongoing clash between AI innovation and copyright law including examining the legal landscape surrounding generative AI models; evolving content moderation practices, focusing on Section 230 and the EU’s Digital Services Act; and, finally, what the next administration should prioritize at the antitrust agencies.

This year’s Symposium will also feature an esteemed guest speaker – FTC Commissioner Melissa Holyoak.

Judges and Attorneys General staff that work in antitrust are invited to apply to attend the symposium. The Symposium will run for the entire day of Friday, February 21; therefore, the LEC will book and pay for your hotel room for the nights of Thursday, February 20 and Friday, February 21, 2025 and reimburse reasonable travel costs.
