The Law & Economics Center will be hosting its Eighth Annual Public Policy Institute on Financial Services. Past programming has included panels discussing blockchain payment technology, consumer credit and its regulation, financial inclusion and the shadow economy. Keynote addresses for this event will include Mark A. Calabria, Chief Economist for the Office of the Vice President of the United States, and Nathaniel Popper, Technology Reporter for The New York Times and author of Digital Gold: Bitcoin and the Inside Story of the Misfits and Millionaires Trying to Reinvent Money.
Program participants will have the opportunity to tour a state of the art Visa processing facility designed to securely process hundreds of millions of transactions per day. The data center tour, led by the top cyber security practitioners, will provide unique exposure to the systems, hardware, software, and skilled professionals that keep the world’s largest retail payment network safe.
